Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and monitor vital signs to ensure optimal health status.
- Administer medications, treatments, and therapies according to established protocols and physician orders.
- Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary care team to develop and adjust individualized patient care plans.
- Educate patients and their families on disease prevention, treatment plans, and post-discharge care instructions.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient encounters in electronic health records.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations and provide critical care interventions as required.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Virginia.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted with relevant experience.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or emergency department setting preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems (EHR).
