Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment & Care: Conduct thorough health assessments and develop individualized care plans for patients of all ages.
- Medication Administration: Safely administer prescribed medications and treatments while monitoring for adverse reactions.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Continuously monitor patient vitals and report significant changes to the healthcare team immediately.
- Collaborative Care: Work closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient outcomes.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed electronic health records (EHR) in compliance with hospital standards.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and families on disease management, discharge instructions, and healthy lifestyle choices.
- Crisis Management: Respond effectively to medical emergencies and assist in stabilizing patient conditions.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program.
- Licensure: Valid, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New York or Illinois.
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with diverse patient populations.
- Emotional Intelligence: Strong empathy, patience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Teamwork: Proven ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
