Responsibilities
- Assess patient health status by performing physical exams and reviewing medical histories.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing protocols and physician orders.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and update individualized patient care plans.
- Document patient care activities, observations, and responses to interventions accurately and timely.
- Provide patient and family education to promote health maintenance and disease prevention.
- Monitor and report changes in patient conditions, escalating concerns to charge nurses or physicians immediately.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and unit-based meetings.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with a valid RN License in the State of Colorado.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred.
- Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a patient-centered approach.
- Commitment to professional development and adherence to hospital policies and procedures.
- Willingness to cross-train in various nursing units based on organizational needs.
