Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized, evidence-based care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments in strict adherence to hospital protocols and physician orders.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurse practitioners, and the broader interdisciplinary care team.
- Monitor patient conditions continuously and respond promptly to changes in status or emergencies.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient care activities within the electronic health record.
- Educate patients and their families on health management, medication safety, and post-discharge care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and nursing research activities.
Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered RN license in the District of Columbia (or ability to obtain).
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing (ASN or BSN).
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required (or willingness to obtain within 3 months).
- Strong critical thinking, clinical judgment, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated compassion, resilience, and a commitment to patient-centered care.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift patients as needed.
