Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment & Care: Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians and the interdisciplinary team.
- Medication Management: Administer medications and treatments accurately according to physician orders and established hospital protocols.
- Documentation: Maintain precise and up-to-date medical records, including electronic health records (EHR), ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
- Health Education: Educate patients and families on disease management, medication side effects, and post-discharge care instructions.
- Collaboration: Communicate effectively with nursing staff, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to medical emergencies and acute changes in patient condition.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice in the State of Illinois.
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Masterβs degree preferred.
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience preferred; new graduates with strong clinical rotations may be considered.
- Skills: Strong critical thinking, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in electronic medical records (EHR) systems.
