Responsibilities
- Assess Patient Health: Perform comprehensive health assessments, including physical examinations and history reviews, to establish accurate nursing diagnoses.
- Develop Care Plans: Create, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Medication Management: Administer prescribed medications and treatments safely and accurately, adhering to strict safety protocols and documentation standards.
- Monitor Progress: Continuously monitor patients for changes in condition, responding swiftly to emergencies and adjusting care plans as necessary.
- Collaborative Care: Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other staff members to ensure seamless patient care transitions.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on disease prevention, health maintenance, and post-discharge care instructions.
- Documentation: Maintain precise and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR) documenting all patient interactions and outcomes.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Nevada State Board of Nursing.
- Certifications: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required; NRP preferred for labor & delivery units.
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical nursing experience preferred; new graduates with strong clinical rotations are encouraged to apply.
- Skills: Strong critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and clinical decision-making skills under pressure.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and diverse staff.
- Technology: Proficiency in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and medical equipment.
