Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough physical assessments and monitor patient health status to identify changes requiring intervention.
- Medication Administration: Accurately administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
- Collaborative Care: Work closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Continuously monitor vital signs and report significant deviations to the charge nurse or provider immediately.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive medical records in compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to code blue situations and emergency alerts, demonstrating leadership and critical thinking skills.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Texas Board of Nursing.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required; PALS preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or acute care setting.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and staff.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical equipment.
