Responsibilities
- Assess Patient Health: Conduct comprehensive physical assessments and monitor patient conditions to identify changes that require immediate medical intervention.
- Medication Administration: Safely administer prescribed medications and treatments according to hospital protocols and physician orders.
- Collaborate with Team: Work closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare staff to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about medical conditions, treatment options, and post-discharge care instructions.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely medical records, including patient histories, assessments, and treatment outcomes.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to code blue situations and other medical emergencies to ensure patient safety and well-being.
Qualifications
- Valid RN License: Current and active Registered Nurse license to practice in New York State.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a hospital setting preferred.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients and staff.
- Compassion: Strong bedside manner and the ability to demonstrate empathy and cultural competence in diverse patient populations.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift patients, and perform physical tasks as required by the job.
