Responsibilities
- Assess patient health problems, needs, and recovery progress by conducting thorough physical examinations and medical histories.
- Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans in collaboration with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols and physician orders, monitoring for adverse reactions.
- Monitor and record vital signs, symptoms, and patient responses to treatments to ensure safety and effectiveness.
- Educate patients and their families on disease prevention, post-procedure care, and health maintenance strategies.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care and seamless patient transitions.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice in Minnesota.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing (ASN, BSN, or MSN).
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) preferred for specialized units.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical nursing experience preferred (new graduates may be considered).
- Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced environment with a focus on patient safety.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and computer systems.
