Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor vital signs and clinical status throughout the night shift.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and therapeutic procedures as prescribed by physicians.
  • Respond immediately to emergent patient situations and initiate appropriate life-saving interventions.
  • Document patient care activities, assessments, and changes in condition accurately in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and the interdisciplinary team to develop and adjust patient care plans.
  • Provide patient education and emotional support to patients and their families during the overnight hours.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and organized environment for patients and staff.

Qualifications

  • Current, active, and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Nebraska.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of nursing experience preferred (Pediatric or Medical-Surgical background a plus).
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
  • Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed during high-stress situations.
