Your Mission
As a Night Shift RN, you will be the first line of defense for our patients during the overnight hours. You will lead a compassionate team in providing high-quality, patient-centered care in a dynamic urban medical setting. We value autonomy, critical thinking, and the ability to adapt quickly to changing situations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and monitor vital signs throughout the night shift to ensure patient safety and well-being.
- Administer medications, treatments, and therapeutic procedures in strict accordance with established protocols and physician orders.
- Collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary care team, including physicians, nurse practitioners, and other support staff, to develop individualized care plans.
- Document patient care accurately and promptly using electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Respond immediately to medical emergencies, initiating life-saving interventions and activating appropriate emergency response codes.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families regarding their health conditions and discharge planning.
- Assist in the admission, transfer, and discharge processes, ensuring all regulatory requirements are met.
Qualifications
- Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the State of Colorado.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 6 months of hire.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a hospital setting, preferably in a Medical-Surgical or ICU environment.
- Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to make sound clinical decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on patient advocacy.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team during night shift operations.
