Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for assessing patient health, developing nursing care plans, and implementing the nursing care plan. The RN monitors patient progress and evaluates outcomes. This role requires high energy, critical thinking skills, and a commitment to excellence during the night shift.
Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough initial and ongoing assessments of patients' physical and emotional conditions.
- Medication Administration: Accurately administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely patient medical records and electronic health records (EHR).
- Collaboration: Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to medical emergencies and crises within the unit.
- Vital Signs: Monitor and record vital signs and clinical changes in patients.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Texas Board of Nursing.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required. PALS preferred based on unit.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of nursing experience in a hospital or acute care setting preferred.
- Shift Availability: Must be willing and able to work rotating night shifts (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM or 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Compassion: Strong patient advocacy skills with a compassionate and caring demeanor.
