Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment & Monitoring: Conduct thorough patient assessments upon admission and continuously monitor vital signs, symptoms, and medical conditions throughout the night shift.
- Medication Administration: Accurately administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols.
- Emergency Response: Respond immediately to code blue alerts and medical emergencies, demonstrating critical thinking and decisive action.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed electronic health records (EHR) for all assigned patients.
- Collaborative Care: Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team, including physicians, pharmacists, and ancillary staff.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and families on care plans, medications, and post-discharge instructions to ensure continuity of care.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Valid, active Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the State of California.
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or acute care setting preferred; critical care experience is a plus.
- Night Shift Availability: Must be willing and able to work rotating night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM).
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Computer Literacy: Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems.
