Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough initial and ongoing assessments of patient health status to identify needs and develop appropriate care plans.
- Medication Administration: Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols and documentation standards.
- Critical Care: Monitor vital signs and respond promptly to changes in patient condition, including emergency situations during the night shift.
- Collaborative Care: Communicate effectively with the healthcare team, physicians, and families to ensure holistic patient management.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, charts, and shift reports in compliance with hospital policies.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and families on disease prevention, health maintenance, and post-discharge care instructions.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee or a Compact State (e.g., Georgia).
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical nursing experience preferred, especially in a hospital or critical care setting.
- Skills: Strong critical thinking, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently during night shifts.
- Availability: Flexibility to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
