Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment & Care Planning: Conduct thorough physical assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans tailored to each patient's needs.
- Medication Administration: Accurately administer medications and treatments while strictly adhering to hospital protocols and safety regulations.
- Vital Monitoring: Continuously monitor patients' vital signs and clinical status, responding promptly to any changes or emergencies.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Communicate effectively with physicians, nurse practitioners, and the wider care team to ensure seamless patient care transitions.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely electronic health records (EHR) for all patients.
- Emergency Response: Demonstrate critical thinking and rapid response capabilities during night shift emergencies or code activations.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience preferred; Critical Care or Medical-Surgical experience highly desirable.
- Skills: Strong clinical assessment skills, proficiency in IV therapy, and proficiency in electronic medical records.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, ability to work independently during night hours, and a compassionate demeanor toward patients and families.
