Job Summary
As a Night Shift Registered Nurse, you will serve as the primary caregiver for patients during the evening and night hours. You will assess patient needs, administer medications, and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment & Care: Conduct thorough patient assessments upon admission and throughout the shift to identify changes in condition and intervene promptly.
- Medication Management: Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and hospital protocols, ensuring accuracy and patient safety.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough medical records and patient charts in compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
- Emergency Response: Respond effectively to medical emergencies and crises, utilizing critical thinking and life-saving skills.
- Collaboration: Communicate effectively with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care plans.
- Infection Control: Adhere to strict infection prevention and control policies to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina.
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required; CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse) preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of acute care nursing experience preferred.
- Skills: Strong clinical assessment skills, proficiency with electronic health records (EHR), and exceptional communication abilities.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, lift, and maneuver patients weighing up to 300 lbs. Must be able to work night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM).
