Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive patient assessment and care planning for assigned patients during night shift hours
- Administer medications and treatments accurately while maintaining strict infection control protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care and patient safety
- Document patient information and progress in electronic health records with precision and timeliness
- Respond effectively to emergency situations and critical incidents using evidence-based protocols
- Mentor new staff and participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Coordinate patient discharges and transfers with day shift teams
Qualifications
- Active RN license in the state of Virginia
- BSN degree preferred (ADN candidates with experience considered)
- Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications required (PALS preferred)
- Strong clinical skills in medication administration and patient monitoring
- Proficiency with electronic health record systems (EPIC experience preferred)
- Excellent communication and critical thinking abilities
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions during night shift hours
