Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, compassionate patient care in accordance with nursing standards and hospital protocols.
- Monitor patient vital signs and symptoms, reporting any significant changes to the healthcare team immediately.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accurate documentation in EHR systems.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare staff to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Assist patients and families with education regarding their diagnosis, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment to prevent infections and ensure patient safety.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia (or eligible for compact state licensure).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of nursing experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks including lifting and assisting patients.
