Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and monitor vital signs.
- Administer medications and treatments in strict adherence to physician orders and hospital protocols.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurse practitioners, and the wider healthcare team to develop patient care plans.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient records and care activities.
- Respond promptly to emergencies and critical situations to ensure patient safety.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding medical conditions and discharge planning.
Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the state of Virginia.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of nursing experience preferred, with acute care experience a plus.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Computer proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
