Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough health assessments and monitor patient vital signs to ensure accurate diagnosis and treatment plans.
- Medication Management: Administer prescribed medications and treatments safely, adhering to strict hospital protocols and state regulations.
- Collaborative Care: Partner with physicians, nurse practitioners, and the interdisciplinary team to develop and adjust individualized patient care plans.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and families on disease prevention, post-discharge care, and healthy lifestyle choices to promote long-term wellness.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records (EHR) documenting all patient interactions and clinical findings.
- Emergency Response: Respond swiftly to emergencies and changing patient conditions, demonstrating critical thinking and rapid decision-making skills.
- Compassionate Support: Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and families during critical moments in their healthcare journey.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program.
- Licensure: Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the New Mexico Board of Nursing.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required; CPR certification preferred.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and staff.
- Skills: Strong critical thinking, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
