Responsibilities
- Assess patient health problems and needs, developing and implementing a comprehensive nursing care plan.
- Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols and physician orders.
- Monitor patient vital signs and medical conditions, alerting the healthcare team to any changes.
- Document all patient care activities, assessments, and interventions accurately and timely.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Provide patient education and emotional support to patients and their families.
- Respond to emergent situations and emergency codes with calm and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the State of Indiana.
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing (Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred for high-acuity units.
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume healthcare environment.
- Demonstrated compassion, empathy, and a commitment to patient-centered care.
