Responsibilities
- Provide High-Quality Patient Care: Assess patient needs, administer medications, and monitor vital signs according to established protocols and standards of care.
- Collaborative Teamwork: Work effectively with physicians, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, and other healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Documentation: Accurately and timely document patient assessments, interventions, and responses in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to code blue situations and other medical emergencies within the department.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and families on disease processes, treatment plans, and discharge instructions to promote healing and prevent readmission.
- Infection Control: Adhere strictly to all hygiene and infection control policies to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Licensure: Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Tennessee.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required upon hire or within 30 days.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, families, and staff.
- Technical Proficiency: Ability to proficiently navigate computer systems and medical equipment.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand, walk, lift, and maneuver patients weighing up to 250 lbs. Must have excellent vision and hearing.
