Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment & Care: Conduct comprehensive initial and ongoing assessments to evaluate patient health needs and develop individualized care plans.
- Medication Administration: Safely and accurately administer medications and treatments according to established protocols and physician orders.
- Collaborative Care: Work closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and the wider healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed medical records in accordance with legal and institutional standards.
- Patient & Family Education: Educate patients and their families about diagnoses, treatment plans, and self-care techniques to empower them in the recovery process.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to patient emergencies and critical situations, demonstrating calmness and decisiveness under pressure.
- Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and care delivery.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. Must be a New Graduate (within 12 months of graduation) or a recent graduate willing to sit for the NCLEX exam.
- Licensure: Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Tennessee required.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (American Heart Association) required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred but can be obtained during orientation.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and diverse staff.
- Compassion: Demonstrated empathy, patience, and a strong commitment to patient-centered care.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with electronic health record systems (EHR) and computer technology.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand, walk, lift, and maneuver patients; ability to work varying shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
