Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and monitor vital signs to ensure optimal patient health outcomes.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
- Document patient care accurately and promptly in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, procedures, and post-discharge care instructions.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies and assist in triage situations within the unit.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment, adhering to all infection control standards.
Qualifications
- Valid and active Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the New York State Department of Education.
- Recent graduation from an accredited Nursing Program (Associate Degree in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and medical staff.
- Demonstrated compassion, empathy, and a commitment to patient-centered care.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Proficiency in using computer-based charting systems.
