Responsibilities
- Provide direct, high-quality patient care and support to a diverse patient population.
- Monitor patient vital signs, symptoms, and progress, reporting any changes to the charge nurse or physician immediately.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established nursing protocols and safety standards.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and their families on disease prevention, health maintenance, and post-discharge care instructions.
- Document all patient interactions, assessments, and care provided accurately and timely in electronic health records (EHR).
- Assist in the admission and discharge processes, ensuring all necessary paperwork and safety checks are completed.
Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice in the State of Illinois.
- Graduation from an accredited Nursing School (Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) accepted).
- CPR/BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS preferred for high-acuity units.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with patients, families, and medical staff.
- Compassionate demeanor and a genuine desire to help others during times of need.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Basic computer literacy and experience with electronic medical records is a plus.
