Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate patient care according to established nursing standards and protocols.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, administer medications and treatments, and monitor for adverse reactions or changes in condition.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurse practitioners, and the interdisciplinary care team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and families on health conditions, treatment options, and post-discharge care instructions to promote wellness.
- Document patient care accurately and timely in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies and patient requests within the scope of practice.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered RN license in the District of Columbia (or compact state eligibility).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or acute care setting preferred.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs as required by the role.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
