Responsibilities
- Conduct Comprehensive Assessments: Perform thorough patient evaluations to monitor health status and identify changes that require immediate attention.
- Administer Medications & Treatments: Safely dispense medications and perform medical procedures according to strict physician orders and hospital protocols.
- Develop Care Plans: Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to create and implement individualized, evidence-based care plans for every patient.
- Monitor Vital Signs: Continuously observe and record patient symptoms, reaction to medications, and changes in medical condition.
- Ensure Patient Safety: Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection control policies and reporting potential hazards immediately.
- Provide Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on post-discharge care, medication management, and healthy lifestyle choices.
- Accurate Documentation: Maintain precise, up-to-date electronic health records (EHR) to ensure continuity of care and legal compliance.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Tennessee (or eligibility for compact state licensure).
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical nursing experience preferred, with Med-Surg or Critical Care experience a plus.
- Skills: Strong critical thinking, time management, and computer proficiency with EHR systems.
- Attributes: Strong communication skills, high emotional intelligence, and a commitment to patient advocacy.
