Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment: Conduct comprehensive initial and ongoing assessments to formulate accurate nursing diagnoses and care plans.
- Medication Management: Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately according to physician orders and established protocols.
- Vital Monitoring: Continuously monitor patient vital signs and report any changes in condition to the healthcare team immediately.
- Collaborative Care: Work closely with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate holistic patient care.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, disease management, and discharge instructions.
- Documentation: Maintain thorough and accurate electronic health records (EHR) in compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Louisiana.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience preferred; new graduates are welcome to apply.
- Skills: Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Computer Literacy: Proficiency in electronic medical record systems.
