Responsibilities
- Assess Patient Needs: Conduct comprehensive physical assessments and monitor patient health conditions to identify immediate and long-term care needs.
- Medication Administration: Safely administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Regularly check and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration) and report significant changes to the healthcare team.
- Patient Care Coordination: Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and social workers to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely medical records, patient charts, and shift reports.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about post-care instructions, disease management, and healthy lifestyle choices.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to medical emergencies and assist in code blue situations when required.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Massachusetts (MA).
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications are required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or healthcare setting preferred.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients and staff.
- Compassion: Strong empathy and patient-centric approach to healthcare delivery.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to follow complex instructions and maintain high standards of safety and hygiene.
