Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment: Conduct comprehensive health assessments and monitor patient vital signs to ensure optimal recovery.
- Medication Administration: Safely administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, adhering to all hospital protocols.
- Patient Advocacy: Serve as a primary advocate for patients, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are met within the healthcare system.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records (EHR) detailing patient conditions, treatments, and progress.
- Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, specialists, and the interdisciplinary care team to develop and implement effective care plans.
- Education: Provide patient and family education regarding disease management, discharge instructions, and post-care activities.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of California.
- Certifications: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required.
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Diploma graduates considered with significant experience.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient-centric dialogue.
- Compassion: Strong bedside manner and the ability to demonstrate empathy and cultural competency with diverse patient populations.
- Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities effectively.
