Responsibilities
- Conduct rapid, comprehensive patient assessments to determine acuity levels and prioritize care needs.
- Utilize evidence-based triage protocols and clinical judgment to facilitate appropriate patient flow through the Emergency Department.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, physician assistants, and nursing staff to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Document patient interactions, medical histories, and triage assessments accurately and timely in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Provide compassionate patient education and emotional support to patients and families during critical or high-stress situations.
- Monitor patient status continuously and intervene immediately if clinical deterioration is detected.
- Act as a preceptor for new nursing staff and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Nevada.
- Minimum of 2 years of acute care nursing experience, preferably in an Emergency Department or Urgent Care setting.
- Certification in BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
- Proficient in electronic medical record systems (EMR) and computer literacy.
- Commitment to patient safety, privacy, and quality care standards (HIPAA compliance).
