Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive telephone and in-person triage assessments for patients presenting with a variety of acute and chronic conditions.
- Utilize clinical decision-making skills to determine the appropriate level of care (e.g., self-care, urgent care, ER) and prioritize patient needs effectively.
- Evaluate and document patient symptoms, medical history, and allergies accurately in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care and appropriate treatment plans.
- Provide patient education on disease prevention, medication management, and wellness strategies.
- Adhere strictly to HIPAA regulations and hospital protocols to maintain patient confidentiality and safety.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Florida.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in a triage, urgent care, or call center setting.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to de-escalate patient concerns effectively.
- Proficient in navigating electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high attention to detail and patient safety standards.
