Responsibilities
- Comprehensive Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough physical exams and monitor vital signs to evaluate patient health status and progress.
- Individualized Care Planning: Develop, implement, and update nursing care plans in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
- Medication Management: Safely administer prescribed medications and treatments while adhering to strict hospital protocols and safety standards.
- Emergency Response: Respond swiftly to medical emergencies and critical situations, ensuring patient safety and stability.
- Effective Communication: Liaise effectively with patients, families, and colleagues to provide clear instructions and emotional support.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, clinical notes, and documentation as required by regulatory bodies.
- Infection Control: Enforce strict hygiene and infection control measures to protect patients and staff.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR).
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are mandatory.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or acute care setting preferred.
- Specialties: Experience in Med-Surg, ICU, ER, or Telemetry is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical equipment.
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a compassionate demeanor.
