Responsibilities
- Provide High-Quality Patient Care: Assess patient health needs, implement nursing care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes to ensure the highest standard of medical treatment.
- Medication Administration: Safely administer prescribed medications and treatments, strictly adhering to hospital protocols and legal requirements.
- Collaboration & Communication: Work seamlessly with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records (EHR), ensuring all patient interactions and care plans are documented correctly.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to medical emergencies and critical situations, demonstrating quick thinking and decisive action.
- Patient Advocacy: Educate patients and families on disease prevention, health management, and post-discharge care instructions.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the North Carolina Board of Nursing (or compact state license valid in VA).
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Diploma graduates considered.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a hospital setting (Medical-Surgical or Telemetry preferred).
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required or must be obtained within 3 months of hire.
- Skills: Strong clinical assessment skills, proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR), and excellent interpersonal communication.
- Compassion: Demonstrated ability to provide empathetic care to patients of all ages and backgrounds.
