Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor vital signs throughout the shift.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with hospital protocols and physician orders.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Provide education and support to patients and families regarding care instructions and discharge planning.
- Respond promptly to code blue emergencies and unit emergencies.
Qualifications
- Current and active Virginia RN License.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience preferred, with specific experience in Med-Surg or Telemetry.
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and medical staff.
- Flexibility to work rotating weekend shifts (Saturday and Sunday).
