Responsibilities
- Assess patient health status by performing comprehensive physical examinations and reviewing medical histories.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, strictly adhering to safety protocols.
- Monitor patients' conditions continuously and respond promptly to any changes or emergencies.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Document patient care activities, including vital signs, intake and output, and patient responses to treatment.
- Educate patients and their families on disease prevention, health maintenance, and post-discharge care instructions.
- Provide emotional support and advocacy for patients during critical care situations.
Qualifications
- Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Texas Board of Nursing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or acute care setting preferred.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and families.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
