Responsibilities
- Assess incoming patient calls and triage symptoms to determine the level of urgency.
- Provide accurate medical advice, symptom education, and self-care instructions to patients.
- Document all patient interactions and triage decisions accurately into the EMR system.
- Coordinate referrals to appropriate providers, specialists, or urgent care facilities.
- Evaluate caller history and vital signs to make informed clinical decisions.
- Collaborate with nursing supervisors and physicians to ensure continuity of care.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered RN license in the State of Minnesota.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 1 year in triage or call center nursing preferred.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with electronic health records (EMR).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and make critical decisions quickly.
