Responsibilities
- Assess Patient Needs: Conduct comprehensive physical assessments and monitor patient conditions to identify changes that require immediate intervention.
- Medication Administration: Safely administer prescribed medications and treatments according to hospital protocols and state regulations.
- Collaborative Care: Work closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and the wider healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records (EHR) documenting patient care, outcomes, and communications.
- Crisis Management: Respond effectively to medical emergencies and critical situations with calmness and precision.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on disease prevention, health maintenance, and medication management.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Nursing School (ASN, BSN, or MSN preferred).
- Licensure: Valid and active Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Michigan Board of Nursing.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required; PALS preferred depending on unit.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a hospital setting is highly preferred.
- Skills: Strong critical thinking, excellent communication skills, and proficiency with electronic medical records.
- Soft Skills: Empathy, resilience, and the ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
