Responsibilities
- Comprehensive Patient Care: Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in accordance with medical standards and facility protocols.
- Medication Administration: Safely administer medications and treatments while strictly adhering to safety regulations and physician orders.
- Vital Monitoring: Continuously monitor patients' vital signs and clinical status, promptly reporting any significant changes to the medical team.
- Collaborative Care: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and therapists to ensure a holistic approach to patient recovery and treatment.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring all patient interactions and care plans are documented correctly.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment options, and post-care instructions.
- Emergency Response: Respond effectively to medical emergencies within the unit, utilizing critical thinking and rapid decision-making skills.
Qualifications
- License: Valid and active Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN).
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or medical setting preferred.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, families, and medical staff.
- Critical Thinking: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Empathy: High level of compassion and a genuine desire to improve patient outcomes.
