Responsibilities
- Assess patient health needs by collecting, recording, and analyzing medical data and history.
- Develop and implement comprehensive nursing care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and optimize outcomes.
- Educate patients and their families on health maintenance, disease prevention, and post-treatment care.
- Monitor patient progress and respond promptly to any changes in condition or emergency situations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation in compliance with hospital standards.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the District of Columbia.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or acute care setting preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate care to patients of diverse backgrounds and ages.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift patients as required by clinical duties.
