Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to assigned patients during weekend shifts (Sat-Sun)
- Administer medications and treatments with precision and documentation accuracy
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
- Monitor patient vital signs and respond promptly to changes in condition
- Maintain electronic health records with strict HIPAA compliance
- Educate patients and families on health management and discharge planning
- Participate in weekend shift huddles and quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active RN license in District of Columbia or compact state
- BSN or higher degree preferred (ADN with 3+ years experience considered)
- Minimum 2 years acute care nursing experience in hospital setting
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Strong assessment skills and clinical judgment for weekend emergencies
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities
- Ability to thrive in autonomous weekend shift environment
