Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment & Care Planning: Conduct thorough physical assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans based on patient needs and physician orders.
- Medication & Treatment Administration: Safely administer medications and treatments, strictly adhering to hospital protocols and ensuring accurate documentation in electronic health records (EHR).
- Collaborative Care: Collaborate effectively with physicians, therapists, and the interdisciplinary care team to ensure holistic patient recovery.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to medical emergencies and critical situations, utilizing advanced clinical judgment and life support skills.
- Health Education: Educate patients and families on disease management, treatment plans, and preventative care strategies.
- Quality Improvement: Participate in quality assurance activities and maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Virginia required.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification mandatory; ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of acute care or medical-surgical nursing experience preferred.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and staff.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and medical equipment.
- Adaptability: Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the facility.
