Responsibilities
- Process prescription requests accurately, verifying patient information and medication interactions against physician orders.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels of pharmaceutical products, including ordering, stocking, and performing monthly audits.
- Prepare and package prescriptions, ensuring proper labeling, safety caps, and compounding as required.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering medication inquiries, offering counseling, and resolving concerns professionally.
- Utilize pharmacy management software to update patient records and track prescription histories securely.
- Ensure strict adherence to all state and federal regulations, including HIPAA privacy standards and DEA guidelines.
- Assist in the training and mentorship of new pharmacy staff members.
Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (ExCPT) or eligible to sit for the exam.
- Current and valid New York State Pharmacy Technician license.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, drug interactions, and dosage forms.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in using computer systems and point-of-sale software.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs as needed.
