Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection following strict safety protocols
- Process and transport specimens to Anchorage laboratories with proper chain-of-custody documentation
- Provide remote patient instructions for home blood draw kits via telehealth platforms
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and specimen tracking systems
- Collaborate with Anchorage-based healthcare teams to ensure timely test results
- Train patients on home collection procedures for remote monitoring programs
Qualifications
- Current Alaska Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASPT or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years clinical phlebotomy experience in Alaska healthcare settings
- Proficiency with telehealth software and remote patient monitoring tools
- Valid Alaska driver's license for specimen transport (mileage reimbursed)
- BLS/CPR certification with ability to maintain certification
- Experience working with diverse patient populations including rural Alaskan communities
- Strong attention to detail and HIPAA compliance knowledge
