Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipuncture and capillary blood collections following strict protocols
- Process and transport specimens to laboratory facilities with chain-of-custody documentation
- Provide exceptional patient care with empathy during blood draw procedures
- Maintain precise electronic health records (EHR) and specimen tracking systems
- Adhere to OSHA, CLIA, and HIPAA compliance standards
- Collaborate with remote medical teams for sample analysis coordination
- Conduct quality control procedures for phlebotomy equipment
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASPT or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical blood collection experience
- Proficient in venipuncture, capillary draws, and pediatric techniques
- Strong understanding of infection control and safety procedures
- Exceptional communication skills for remote patient interactions
- Experience with EHR systems (Epic/NextGen preferred)
- Ability to work independently with minimal onsite supervision
- Valid Arizona driver's license for specimen transport
