Responsibilities
- Perform accurate blood collection procedures including venipuncture, capillary draws, and specimen processing
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and maintain strict patient confidentiality protocols
- Coordinate telehealth consultations for remote patient monitoring and follow-ups
- Verify patient identification and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis
- Utilize electronic health records (EHR) systems for documentation and inventory management
- Train patients on home collection procedures for remote testing programs
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to resolve specimen discrepancies
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, NHA, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year of clinical phlebotomy experience
- Proficiency with telehealth platforms and remote monitoring technologies
- Strong knowledge of OSHA bloodborne pathogen standards
- Exceptional communication skills for virtual patient interactions
- Ability to work independently while maintaining high-quality standards
- Valid North Carolina driver's license for occasional travel to satellite sites
- BLS/CPR certification required
