Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, sterile fields, and surgical instruments for complex procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations with precise instrument passing and sterile technique
- Maintain inventory and sterilization protocols in compliance with OSHA and AORN standards
- Document procedures accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize surgical workflow
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent credential required
- 2+ years of OR experience in general surgery or subspecialty
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and surgical equipment
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing and infection control protocols
- Ability to adapt to remote collaboration tools and flexible scheduling
- Exceptional attention to detail and critical thinking under pressure
