Core Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive phone and virtual assessments for patients presenting with acute and chronic symptoms.
- Utilize evidence-based protocols to prioritize patient needs and direct them to appropriate levels of care (ER, Urgent Care, or physician follow-up).
- Document patient interactions accurately and in real-time within the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Provide health education and medication management instructions to patients and caregivers.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care and resolve complex clinical queries.
- Manage high call volumes while maintaining a calm, professional demeanor and empathetic patient rapport.
Qualifications
- Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in a triage, urgent care, or emergency setting.
- Strong proficiency in electronic medical records and telehealth technologies.
- Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to de-escalate tense situations.
- Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions under pressure.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
