Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile fields and surgical equipment for complex procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations with precise instrument passing and wound retraction
- Maintain strict aseptic protocols to prevent surgical site infections
- Manage inventory of surgical supplies and equipment sterilization
- Transport patients and position them for optimal surgical access
- Document procedural details accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless surgical workflows
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of OR experience in Level I Trauma center preferred
- Expertise in orthopedic, neuro, and general surgery instrumentation
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing and HIPAA compliance
- Ability to thrive in high-pressure, fast-paced surgical environments
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification mandatory
- Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail
