Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough, accurate, and timely telephone and video triage assessments of patients presenting with a variety of acute and chronic symptoms.
- Clinical Decision Making: Utilize critical thinking and clinical protocols to determine the urgency of patient needs and recommend appropriate next steps, including home care, self-care, urgent care, or emergency room visits.
- Medication Management: Review current medication lists and provide guidance on dosage, interactions, and refill authorization within scope of practice.
- Documentation: Maintain precise, detailed, and up-to-date patient records in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and organizational standards.
- Referral Coordination: Facilitate seamless communication with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care.
- Patient Education: Educate patients on disease prevention, wellness strategies, and self-management techniques to improve long-term health outcomes.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Nebraska (or a compact state) required.
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted with significant relevant experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of nursing experience, preferably in a critical care, emergency department, or telehealth setting.
- Certifications: BLS/ACLS and NRP certifications required; TNCC or CEN certification preferred.
- Skills: Strong proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems; excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Soft Skills: Ability to remain calm under pressure, demonstrate empathy, and make sound clinical judgments quickly in a remote environment.
